Terms of Service

Effective October 29, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Vote to Build at https://votetobuild.com (the "Service"), run by its operator ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

Vote to Build is a community experiment. Members suggest features, refine them with an AI assistant, and vote. Each month the operator may build some of the top ideas. The Service is offered as is, can change at any time, and may be reset, paused, or shut down without notice.

No expectation of privacy, and data may be lost. Do not expect privacy when using the Service: anything you post can be seen by other members and the operator. As features are added and changed, your account, ideas, votes, and other data may be lost, reset, or deleted at any time, without notice. Keep your own copy of anything you care about.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area or the UK) to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure.
  • Give accurate information and keep one account per person.
  • Membership is limited. We may cap or pause new sign-ups at any time.

3. Community rules

You must follow the community rules. We may remove ideas, votes, or content, and suspend or close accounts that break them or these Terms, at our discretion.

4. Your ideas and content

  • No confidentiality. Ideas, messages, and other content you submit ("Content") are shared with the community and are not confidential.
  • License to us. You grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, build, publish, and distribute your Content, and anything based on it, for any purpose, without payment or attribution, except where we choose to credit you.
  • Your promises. You have the right to submit your Content, and it does not break the law or anyone else's rights.
  • No compensation. Submitting an idea, or having it built, does not entitle you to payment, ownership, or any other reward.

5. The AI assistant

The assistant helps turn ideas into proposals. Its replies are generated automatically and may be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable. Do not rely on them for any important decision, and do not enter personal, confidential, health, or financial information into it.

6. Usage limits

The Service enforces limits, such as a daily number of assistant prompts and a weekly number of new members. Do not try to get around these limits, probe or attack the Service, scrape it, or use it to send spam.

7. Features we build

Features built from community ideas belong to us. We decide what gets built, when, and how, and may change or remove any feature.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THE SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DATA WILL BE KEPT.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO US$50.

10. Ending your use

You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access at any time. Sections 4, 8, 9, and 12 continue after your access ends.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will change the effective date above, and if the changes are significant we will post a notice in the Service. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the new Terms.

12. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These Terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
